Annual Report of The Youth Jazz Ensemble of Dupage
This is a report to the community from the Youth Jazz Ensemble of Dupage (YJED). The Ensemble had a wonderful 2006-2007 season. The highlights of the season were two concerts held in Barrows auditorium on the campus of Wheaton College and a live studio recording experience.

The first concert was held on February 25th 2007 and featured guest artist James Pugh, trombonist and professor of jazz music at the University of Illinois.

The second concert was held on April 15th 2007 with a guest artist from the Juilliard School in New York City, Wycliffe Gordon.

The season finale was a live studio recording of music for the annual CD. This was a first for YJED as they have produced an annual CD from concert performance recordings but have never had the experience of recording in a studio before. This was a very enlightening and exciting encounter for these young musicians.

The YJED 2006-2007 season has ended. (The season is from mid-October to May). Our fiscal year ends on August 31, 2007. The accompanying financial report is our final report.

We are very grateful that the Dupage Community Foundation came to our financial rescue when we lost our rehearsal space. The contribution allowed the band to have 24 rehearsals in the Community Dist. 200 Band Room at Monroe Middle School. We were also given incredibly generous support by Foresters which allowed us to bring in well know artists from the New York Jazz scene and to experience a studio recording session.

These experiences were the highlight of many of our teen musician’s year!
