Saxophones/Trumpets/Trombones - Perform the 2010-2011 IMEA audition piece, Koamah by Thomas Shabda Noor - Demonstrate the ability to improvise on an F Blues and a Bb “Rhythm Changes” - Sightreading Drums: - Perform the 2010-2011 IMEA audition piece, Koamah by Thomas Shabda Noor - Demonstrate the ability to play swing, Latin (Afro-Cuban, Bossa Nova), and funk - Sightreading Bass - Perform the 2010-2011 IMEA audition piece, Koamah by Thomas Shabda Noor - Demonstrate the ability to walk a bassline through an F blues and a Bb “Rhythm Changes”. Also demonstrate the ability to create basslines for Latin (Afro-Cuban, Bossa Nova) and funk grooves - Sightreading Piano - Perform the 2010-2011 IMEA audition piece, Koamah by Thomas Shabda Noor - Demonstrate the ability to “comp” on an F blues and a Bb “Rhythm Changes” - Sightreading Guitar - Perform the 2010-2011 IMEA audition piece, Koamah by Thomas Shabda Noor - Demonstrate the ability to “comp” on an F blues and a Bb “Rhythm Changes”. Also demonstrate the ability to read or create a “comping” pattern for a Bossa Nova. - Sightreading Vocalists - Bring two jazz standards of you choice to perform. You can bring pre-recorded accompaniment or sing acapella. |
